Do I qualify?

The Colombian Resident (R) Visa is granted for a period of five years and may be renewed upon expiration. Eligibility for this visa is typically acquired after holding a Migrant (M) Visa for a continuous period of five (5) years, in accordance with Colombian immigration regulations.

Holding a migrant (M) visa 

Holding a Type M visa for a specific number of years (typically five years), allowing temporary residents to transition to permanent status.

Time abroad 

 With a Colombia residence visa, the holder must not remain outside of Colombia for more than two consecutive years, or the visa may be revoked.

The Colombian Resident (R) is granted also for beneficiaries of a main applicant .

Path towards the citizenship

To get Colombian citizenship, applicants must reside continuously in Colombia for a specific period before applying: Five years for most foreigners under , One year for nationals of Latin American and Caribbean countries.
